Militants killed a sarpanch (head of Gram Panchayat, village level local self-Government institution) in Pulwama District on April 17, reports The Times of India. A senior Police officer said, Militants fired at sarpanch, Muhammad Amin Pandit in Gulzarpora (Awantipora) village outside his residence yesterday (Thursday) evening. He succumbed to critical injuries although he was immediately shifted to hospital.
