Meanwhile, Police have launched a massive hunt to nab the assailants of two persons who were gunned down by suspected Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) at Gasuapara in South Garo Hills on the evening of December 15, reports Times of India. The victims were identified as Semion M Marak of Rongsigre and Sengwal D Sangma of Rongbokgre in the South Garo Hills. South Garo Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) Davis Nestell Marak said, The killing was done in cold blood and it shows the desperation of the GNLA. The outlawed Garo terror group, which left a note by the bodies of their victims, had alleged that the duo was extorting money in their name. However, police have rubbished the GNLA's version. Police have no report whatsoever about the victims' involvement in any kind of extortion. The GNLA is getting paranoid and is now killing civilians to exert pressure on the administration. It shows the desperation of the GNLA, said Marak.
