Patil assured to upgrade the surrender policy of the State, reports The Times of India (TOI) on December 25. Patil, during his visit to TOI office last week, said the surrender policy of the State would be made at par with other states like Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. In 2010, 20 LWEs had surrendered in the State and another 16 laid down their arms in 2011 however in 2012 there have been only eight surrenders till September. On the other hand, several top LWEs from Gadchiroli moved to Andhra Pradesh to surrender in 2012.
